Tour Ancient Glaciers

With many accessible glaciers just outside Anchorage, it is the perfect place to experience Alaska’s frozen marvels. Experienced guides can help travelers have safe adventures in, around and on the rivers of ice.

Take an afternoon flight to see the glaciers from above and some flights even touch down, so visitors can test their footing on the icefield.

Watch a glacier calve from the deck of a boat. Day cruise to Portage Glacier or around Prince William Sound to get up close to the face of tidewater glaciers. Lucky visitors may get to experience the cracking sound that comes right before ice breaks off and crashes into the water below.

For an even more extreme adventure complete with ice cave exploration, visitors can pick up an ice axe and find a climbing guide to take them inside and out of nearby glaciers. Guided hikes are designed for a variety of skill levels.
