Get Festive at Winterfest and Summerfest

Celebrate Uncle Sam with Father Christmas at North Pole’s annual Summerfest. Held on Fourth of July, the event includes a parade, arts and crafts booths and food vendors. The community fair and unique challenges like the grease pole competition and children’s bike-decorating contest draw visitors from across Alaska. Stick around for the Jingle in July Jingle Bell 5K the next day that supports arthritis research. Another summertime event in Santa’s stomping grounds is the Cruising with Santa Festival. Watch as vintage cars roll through town and stop by the drive-in movies or groove along at the street dance. In December, celebrate the Alaska way at the two-day Winterfest. During the day, more than 60 vendors line the decorated streets with food, drinks and Alaska-made gifts. Sing along at the Christmas candle-lighting and watch the crowning of the king and queen of North Pole. Wrap up each night with a dazzling fireworks display that lights up the dark Alaska nights.
